Dr. Paul Williams has felt a calling to use medicine and compassionate ministries as a way to express the love of Jesus to hurting people around the world. His experiences during his more than twenty-five years in medical missions in 105 nations gives him a very unique perspective on world events and human suffering, including in the United States. Whether man-made or natural, the word “disaster” seems more and more a part of our lives. Dr. Williams was alerted to the fact that 85 to 90 percent of people are NOT PREPARED for even common disasters. Dr. Williams felt a stirring to write When All Plans Fail to challenge individual believers and churches to become prepared for disasters, and then during times of crisis, be the “salt and light” the Bible speaks about.
Dr. Williams has organized and led medical teams in a number of major world disasters since the early 1990s. From cyclones devastating Bangladesh, to the refugee camps created by the Rwandan Civil War, to hurricane-ravaged Nicaragua and Honduras, to tsunami devastation in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, and earthquakes around the world, he has been there. He has brought the healing gifts of a physician, his Spirit-led leadership, and a Christ-like love for those who are suffering into the middle of some of the greatest disasters this world has known. His experiences in responding to disasters more than qualify him to bring us his insights into our roles and responsibilities to be prepared through When All Plans Fail.
If you have been at a loss to know where to start, or if your personal preparedness plan needs to be taken to the next level, When All Plans Fail will help you in a major way. This is a book for our time. There is no other book quite like this for the believer who has a unique world view and desires to respond to the “signs of the times” all around him in a practical way. The Bible speaks of a shaking in our day. As Paul Cuny, president of MarketPlace Leadership Int’l says about Dr. Williams, “There are very few men alive today who have the authority to speak about this shaking from the practical perspective given in Paul’s book, When All Plans Fail. Dr. Williams wrote When All Plans Fail with revelation gleaned from a life of dedication to Christ, study of God’s Word, and the experience of ministering to those in disaster situations around the world.” Now Paul is challenging us to step forward and be prepared!
